Sarah Scherer was born in Italy and studied Acting and Contemporary Dance in Vienna, Austria.
She worked as a professional actress for theatre productions, stood both in front of and behind the camera for several short and feauture movies, won the Scriptlab fiction price in Austria for her co-authorship of „Balkan Trip“, directed several plays in theatre and worked as a professional speaker for documentaries and commercials.
In 2016 she studied Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Sarah won an Award as "Best Director in a short film" at the New York City International Film Festival and "Best Women Filmmaker" Award at The Indie Fest, San Diego for her short movie "A Golden Shot".
Sarah played a lead role in the feature film "Letting Go", directed by Götz Raimund, wich will premiere at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York City in October 2018.
